Dan Reynolds and company are at it again with their latest single, “Believer”. Imagine Dragons are known for putting out some imaginative music videos and this one is no different. This time the Las Vegas-based band enlists action movie star, Dolph Lundgren, to act as the antagonist fighting against lead singer, Dan Reynolds. As the song progresses we begin to understand that Reynolds is fighting against an older version of himself that was created by his child self. It sounds more complicated than it is.
“Believer” is everything that you would expect from Imagine Dragons. Great bass lines with big percussion and stinging, memorable guitar riffs and beautifully crafted lyrics that emotional and dark and are delivered with precision and heart. The track is still an amazing blend of dub-step and alternative rock packed with their signature intensity. “Believer” will be one of another anthems that sports teams will be blaring at halftime or on their playoff runs.
It is not known for sure when Imagine Dragons will be releasing their yet untitled third studio album, but it is certainly in the works. And if “Believer” is any indication of their intentions, it will live up to the hype of both Night Visions and Smoke + Mirrors.
