We had a chance to catch up with alt-rockers, Greg Almeida and Hope Vista, to chat with them about their latest VISTA tour, their new singles, “Born For Blood” and “Witch Hunt”, and more. Check out what the New York-based VISTA had to say.

Lemonade Magazine: Hey guys! Thanks for taking the time to chat with us again! It is always fun catching up. Oddly enough, I just saw a post from Greg regarding his first few shows with VISTA two years ago! How have those two years treated you both?

Greg Almeida: That’s so funny. I just saw that pop up on my feed too. I cannot believe it’s been that long. It feels like it was yesterday. But yeah, it’s been an overall good two years with ups and downs here and there. Some stuff we would have changed if we knew better, but that’s how we learn I guess. I’m happy where I am right now, being positive towards the future.

Hope Vista: We were just talking about that a few days ago as well. It’s wild where we’ve been since then, the states we’ve gotten to play in and visit. All about tenacity, I guess. We don’t give up on getting ourselves out there and Greg has played a huge role in that.

LM: That is awesome! On top of your rigorous touring schedule, the last year or so, you have released a couple of singles, “Witch Hunt”, and now, “Born For Blood”, and they have garnered some significant Spotify streams. How does it feel to know that people love your music?

Greg: It feels amazing, plain and simple. I just want more people to hear them!

Hope: The two singles this year far exceeded what we expected. It’s been incredible to see people respond to them, new listeners and returning. Hopefully we can keep the trajectory moving upwards on that in 2019 and keep hitting more goals.

LM: “Born For Blood” is a raucous rock anthem. What was the inspiration behind it?

Greg: It mostly got inspired by what sounds we were messing with in the studio. Hope kind of felt a
“resilience” in the track.

Hope: Yeah, it definitely feels resilient. We were in a weird place when that was written, had just
come off of a tour that was very tough for us. I think I wanted to just create something that defined
that resiliency we have, and write something that others could find their own drive in.

LM: There is always a need for music to be resilient. With the success of both “Witch Hunt” and “Born For Blood”, is there another EP or album on the horizon?

VISTA: We’re writing music, but we’re just writing to write. We’re not writing specifically for a new record and have no plans as of right now to create a new one. We’re just writing, seeing what comes out, what we get inspired by. We just want to keep growing and crafting our sound so we can put out our best material in the future.

LM: You have been relentless on your touring schedule, which is awesome! Are there plans for a West Coast swing tour anytime soon?

Hope: As of right now, unfortunately no, we do not have a West coast plan. It’s always in our minds, we want to head out that way ASAP, but we just simply haven’t had the money to afford to yet! Hopefully in 2019 that will come together. We want to keep reaching new areas.

Greg: I have a good feeling for 2019.

LM: We hope you can come out to see us in the west soon and thanks again! It is always a fun time with you!

Hope: Thank you for always having us!

Greg: Love y’all. Thanks!
