Awaken I AmHailing from Brisbane, Australia, the alt-rock band Awaken I Am, have set their sights on breaking down the barriers of what music can and should be. Their upcoming release, Blind Love, is a decisive, emotional response to a life that is filled with anxiety, depression and pain. A sonic masterpiece that is filled with layered, soundscapes from dueling guitarists Ned Jankovic and Connor Oakley and a strong, platform of innovative drums and percussion from Luke McKenzie, that blends perfectly with the intricate, yet powerful vocals of singer Adam Douglas.

While categorized as alt-rock, the Aussie quartet reaches deeper than just a single simple genre tag. Awaken I Am have this ability to snatch elements from pop and folk and wrapped up neatly in those alternative roots that creates a lush and complete sound that can reach the Top 40. With the soaring, clean vocals of Douglas, it can reach the highest of heights with the new album, Blind Love.

And the aptly named LP, Douglas states that Blind Love “is an impassioned record about relationships and being blind to another’s faults – and our struggles to look past our mistakes. Taylor helped bring a fresh creative element and broke down and rebuilt the songs. It was both the most draining and stressful of times but in the end, a rewarding experience that we have had collectively.”

The dark and brooding Blind Love from Awaken I Am is destined to worm their way into the consciousness of its listeners and will nest there. It is a harmonious record that drives home the darker themes in life.

The brand new album, Blind Love by Awaken I Am, will be available on September 29, 2017, but you can pre-order it on iTunes now. And do not forget to check out the title track on YouTube below!
